George and Martha Washington rest in peace in the tomb, and Mount Vernon's slaves are honored at the nearby Slave Memorial and Burial Ground. Children 5 and under are free.

The Gristmill features four floors of intricate gears, elevator shafts, and massive millstones, all powered by water. The adjacent Distillery showcases the distillation process and also includes an entertaining History Channel video and exhibit on the history of spirits in Ameria and at Mount Vernon.
